High-tech development and investment orientation of the valve industry [2009-07-14]

With the continuous development of science and technology, the domestic valve market also develops towards high-tech content, high-parameter, strong corrosion-resistant and long lifespan. According to the analysis of valve technologies and valve market demand at home and abroad, the valves used in various industries as well as the high-tech development trend and investment direction of valve industry are as follows:
1. Valves for oil and natural gas well portal units
Valves for oil and natural gas well portal units mainly include single-gate or double-gate valves, forged steel parallel gate valves with or without diversion holes, mud valves angle throttle valves (CHOKE valves), pilot safety valves and check valves in accordance with U.S. standards API 6A. These valves have nominal pressure levels including API 2000psi, 3000psi, 5000psi, 10000psi, 15000psi and 20000psi; nominal diameters of DN46 ~ 228 mm (113/16in ~ 9in); temperature grades including K (-60 ~ 182 ℃), L (-42 ~ 182 ℃), P (-29 ~ 182 ℃), R (room temperature), S (-18 ~ 166 ℃), T (-18 ~ 182 ℃), U (-18 ~ 121 ℃) and V (2 ~ 121 ℃); materials specifications including AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, FF and HH; material performance specifications in accordance with 36 K, 45K, 60K and 75K; products’ technical specifications in accordance with PSL1 (product specification level 1), PSL2 ( product specification level 2), PSL3 (product specification level 3) and PSL4 (product specification level 4).

2. Valves for oil and natural gas long-distance pipelines
Valves for oil and natural gas long-distance pipelines mainly include single-gate or double-gate valves, forged steel parallel gate valves; forged-steel or cast-steel three-body type, upper-installed type or full-welding type fixed ball valves; oil-sealed or pressure-balanced plug valves; swing or butterfly check valves, through-ball check valves; and pipe cleaning valves, etc., in accordance with U.S. standards API 6A. These valves have nominal pressure levels including CL150 (PN2.0MPa), CL300 (PN5.0MPa), CL400 (PN6.4MPa), CL600 (PN10.0MPa), CL900 (PN15.0MPa), CL1500 (PN25.0MPa) and CL2500 (PN42.0MPa); nominal diameters of DN50 ~ 1500mm (2in ~ 60in); fire resistance test technical requirements in accordance with ISO10497; valve pressure test in accordance with ISO5208.
3. Valves for nuclear power
Valves for nuclear power require higher technological characteristics and requirements compared to those valves in general large thermal power plants. These valves generally include the types such as gate valves, cut-off valves, check valves, butterfly valves, safety valve, main steam isolating valves, ball valves, Diaphragm valves, pressure-relief valves and control valves, etc.; the highest technical parameters of representative valves are: the largest-diameter DN1200mm (of the butterfly valves for nuclear level 3), DN800mm (of the main steam isolating valves for nuclear level 2), DN350mm (of the main return gate valves for nuclear level 1); maximum pressure: about 1,500 pounds; maximum temperature: about 350℃; media: coolants (boride solutions) and so on. Specification requirements in production of valves used in nuclear power industry: in accordance with the nuclear industry standards EJ, ASME and IEEE standards in the United States as well as PWR in France, etc.
Specific types and parameters of the valves developed for nuclear power industry are as follows:
â‘´ Gate valves without stuffing box:
a. Hydraulic gate valves. This valve uses its pressure water to drive the piston to open or close. Its nominal diameter: DN350 and 400 mm; working pressure: PN17.5MPa; working temperature: 315℃.
b. Full closed electric gate valves. This valve should use a special screen closed type motor and drive the gate to open or close through the inner planet reducing mechanism working under soaking. Its nominal diameter: DN100 ~ 800 mm; working pressure: PN2.5 ~ 45.0MPa; working temperature: 200 ~ 500℃.
